How to write a cursive capital V
- Start a little below the top line with a small curve and pull a slant down to the baseline.
- Curve around the bottom and swing up to the top line on the right.
- Finish with a small curl at the top.
On these sheets the letter after capital V starts on its own.
How to write a cursive lowercase v
- From the baseline, make a small hump up to the midline and slant down to the baseline.
- Swing up to the midline on the right.
- End with a short flat sidestroke to the right.
Joining cursive v to other letters
Lowercase v starts with an overcurve, like m and n, and ends at the midline, like b, o and w. So it joins in from below with a hump and joins out from the top with a sidestroke.
ve is the join to practice: have, give, love, five. The sidestroke has to dip before the loop of the e; if it does not, the e disappears.
Cursive V and print V
Print v is two straight slants meeting in a point at the bottom. Cursive v is rounded at the bottom, like u, and ends high with a sidestroke. Capital V ends with a curl at the top and does not join the next letter.
