How to write a cursive capital T
- Pull a slant down from the top line to the baseline, curving to the left at the bottom and ending with a small hook up.
- Lift the pencil and make the top stroke across, from left to right, with a small curve at its start.
On these sheets the letter after capital T starts on its own.
How to write a cursive lowercase t
- From the baseline, swing up to about halfway between the midline and the top line.
- Come straight back down the same line to the baseline and end with a curve up.
- After the word is written, cross the t with a short line.
Joining cursive t to other letters
Lowercase t has no loop: up and back down the same line. It starts and ends on the baseline, so it joins easily on both sides. The cross waits until the word is finished.
th is the pair to practice most: the exit of t climbs all the way to the top of the loop of h. In tt, as in kitten and little, many writers cross both t’s with one line.
Cursive T and print T
Print t starts at the top with a cross in the middle. Cursive t is shorter than l, has no loop, and is crossed last. Capital T is a curved stem with a top stroke, like a capital F without the short crossbar.
